Hi.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.
I appreciate you considering us, and I think that it’s essential that you understand the type of people you’re choosing to work with.
It was over 20 years ago, my husband, Harry Youssef, decided that he had enough of working for somebody else. He was always working long hours, and I knew that not being able to spend as much quality time with our young kids was something that always upset him.
He made a decision which I fully supported (despite being extremely scared) to step out onto his own into public practice.
And let me tell you, and as you could imagine, being in business is not easy, especially when you have a growing family, a mortgage, and responsibilities. Times were definitely tough, and I remember us having to max out credit cards and do whatever we needed to do to make ends meet in the early days.
But I loved him and supported him and wanted to give him the best chance he could at succeeding, so amongst caring for our children I would also step in and help him. And I’m sure you can relate to those sleepless nights and the constant worry and anxiety, but as the momentum builds, things start to become easier.
Through hard work and a genuine passion to serve, driven by the same loving family values in which we were raised, we started to see some success. The business started to grow! What we were doing was working. For both of us this was exciting, we could finally breathe a little bit, knowing we had some safety in our income.
But life rarely cares about our plans and ambitions, and in the early 2000s he was diagnosed with cancer, but if you knew Harry, you knew that he was a fighter! He wouldn’t let it slow him down, and he’d do what he could to continue to serve and support his clients whilst fighting his own illness.
Admittedly, this put more pressure on me — now with more responsibility in the business, constant doctor visits and a family to care for. But I also have a fighting spirit and was determined to do what I could for my husband, our family, and our business.
For 10 years, he fought cancer, but sadly in late 2016 he passed away, leaving a tremendous hole in my heart, not to mention the impact to our children. After his passing, my eldest son, Michael, who had studied accounting at university, decided that he would continue where his father left and take the business to what we both knew Harry wanted to achieve.
In 2017, Michael committed to the business full time and despite having minimal experience in the industry, and having never run a business before, what I saw was truly inspiring. His determination is unrivalled, despite the circumstance he had a tenacious commitment to make this business work.
Although I would question him more in the early days — because in truth, some of his decisions significantly shifted how we operated — I could understand why he was making these decisions and the impact to the future of our business in the long term. Because of his changes, I’ve been able to work across the globe, and we’ve been able to support clients from different states, but also have team members in different locations.
What was a team of just Michael & I, has grown to a team of 10. What was a business that predominantly focused on personal returns, has grown to a business that supports 100s of businesses with not only accounting and tax advice, but business growth advice.
Just like his father, when he wants something, he doesn’t care what anybody else thinks, he’ll do what he needs to do to succeed. I remember him promising me that I would never have to work as hard again, and initially I didn’t believe him. But fast-forward, I now have more free time than ever (which I think benefits him more, because he gets free babysitting). Apart from tax season where i personally still lodge over 700 returns, throughout the year I have freedom to enjoy the life that both my husband and son have worked hard to build.
I know that we’re the right people and the right business to help you. You would not find somebody who is as personally invested as Michael, and he makes sure that everyone in the team is as personally invested as he is.
That is our story, a husband, and wife business, which has transitioned to a mother & son business during one of the most difficult times in our lives. We consider our team our family, and we consider our clients our family as well.

I would say I make the best tabbouleh you’ll ever eat! My cuisine of preference is, of course, Lebanese, and I don’t think anybody who has eaten at my house has ever said anything other than they wish they could eat like that regularly.
I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren (all of them still keep me on my toes – a mother’s job is never done). When I’m not working, I’ll often babysit the grandchildren.
I’m a council member in my local church and do what I can to give back to my church community.

I’m experienced in Australian tax and accounting, as well as commercial CFO advice. I love working with small business and taking the knowledge I’ve accumulated in my career to make sure they have the best chances of success.
When I’m not at work, I’m at home tending to my garden or spending time with my wife. I enjoy the outdoors and often try to get out camping or spend time in nature. On the weekends, you’ll typically find me coaching my all-age baseball team, which I’ve been a part of for over 10 years. I may not be a Babe Ruth, but the camaraderie (and after game drinks) are what counts.

I’m a mother to 2 beautiful girls, who keep me quite busy when I’m not at work. Most of my days start with a walk by the beach with a coffee and my pooch. I love being in nature, and if I’m not outside playing with my kids, we’ll often be at home renovating or will go camping with our family & friends.

I’m a problem solver and I enjoy a challenge. I’ve seen a number of accounting messes in my time, and rather than run away. I tend to jump in head first, learning about the business whilst at the same time, cleaning up the mess.
If I’m not working, you’ll find me with my friends and family. I’m the kind of person that enjoys a nice, deep and meaningful conversation, and I’m passionate about making an impact in other people’s lives by helping them in small and simple ways.

I’m a single mother to my 10-year-old son, and I do as much as I can to support him. I’m grateful that HY Accounting understands my situation and is more than happy to accommodate my work life around him.
You’ll often find me spending time with my son, especially making sure he fulfils his studies (and not just video games). I’m a cat lover and find their nature peaceful.
When I’m not working or spending time with my son, I like to watch K-Dramas.

I’m a big fan of crime adventure movies and shows and I enjoy travelling with random strangers as it gets me out of my comfort zone and gives me the opportunity to make new connections with people. I’m a big fan of Korean food and will try to eat it as much as I can.

In my free time, I love to bake and cook, and will often visit different coffee shops to try a hot chocolate.
What brings me joy is reading books and spending time every fortnight feeding less fortunate children and elderly. My spirit animal is the Jaguar.

I’m a singer and musician and enjoy R&B and pop and so as a result, whenever I go to karaoke with my friends, I often win. In my spare time, I like reading manga and anime, or playing games on my phone.
But what brings me joy is spending as much time as I can with my family and friends, whether it’s going out to some place new or spending time inside watching a film.
